A MUSIC teacher from Walpole is releasing a Christmas single in a bid to break the festive market.
Instrumentalist Martin ‘Marty’ Davies admitted his inspiration for his original rock track, ‘Santa Needs New Boots’, “was not very rock ’n’ roll”.
He said: “In the very cold weather I suffer from chilblains and my toes become ‘bright and red like Rudolf's nose’, as I say in the song.
“That, coupled with a pair of my shoes that leaked and let in the wet, and there you have it ... the start of a song.”
The single is featured on an EP alongside four other instrumental tracks, including two ‘karaoke tracks’ for people to sing along to, and goes on general release on Monday(December 9).
It will be available through Bridgwater music shop Strings ’n’ Things, from Marty’s website – reverbnation.com/ martindaviessongs.
He will also be signing copies at Bridgwater Baptist Church’s Christmas fair between 10am and 2pm on Saturday, December 7.
