A HOUSING tenant has spoken of his frustration after he endured a four-month wait to repair two gaping holes in his roof.
Father-of-two David Beebe says he reported a hole in his roof and a hole in his daughter's bedroom ceiling at his property in Longstone Avenue to social housing agency Homes in Sedgemoor in August.
Despite several attempts by the landlord to fix the gap in Mr Beebe's roof, it continued to leak until it was finally fixed in December.
Mr Beebe, 47, waited for the second hole to be fixed this week.
He told the Mercury: “It's disgusting it's taken so long to fix.
“Since November 29 until the end of December it's cost me £90 in heating. It's usually around £40, but I've had to have it on more because the heat was just escaping.
“It's been so cold in my daughter's room she hasn't been able to sleep in there.”
He is now working through Homes in Sedgemoor's complaints procedure.
A spokesman for Homes in Sedgemoor said: “Mr Beebe's roof was fixed on Saturday, December 15, following previous attempts to sort out the problem with the roof.
“We are confident the problem has now been resolved. We arranged with Mr Beebe to return on January 3 to finish work to his ceiling, following a period of drying out.
“We are unable to comment on Mr Beebe's heating bills.”
