As a result of the fire, which has now been extinguished, traffic is moving very slowly as motorists approach this stretch of road.
Firefighters from Bridgwater and Taunton arrived on scene to find cattle in the trailer that was being towed by the tractor had been removed to a place of safety.
The cattle were unharmed and awaiting removal from the scene.
