Bridegwater crews called as fire destroys van near junction 22 of M5
Firefighters from Bridgwater and Burnham were called out this morning after severalreports of a vehicle fire just after junction 22 of the M5.
Crews on appliances from Burnham On Sea and Bridgwater found the van on the hard shoulder, "well alight".
The fire was tackled using breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet. Cutting equipment was used to gain access to the back of the vehicle.
A spokesman said that the van was destroyed by fire. The cause was accidental.
