A POLICEMAN was driving along West Street, Bridgwater, in the early hours of the morning when he spotted a man running across the road in front of him, wearing nothing but a green vest and holding his genitals.
When 25-year-old Joseph Bushnell was stopped by the PC his behaviour was aggressive and unpredictable and he was arrested for being drunk and disorderly.
Bushnell pleaded guilty when he appeared at Taunton Magistrates Court on Monday, August 10.
He said he hadn’t drunk for almost a year but on July 21 had been to a friend’s birthday party and joined in the drinking.
The incident happened outside his home in West Street.
Bushnell said he was partially naked because his trousers had snagged on a wall as he was trying to retrieve some keys.
Bushnell was ordered to pay a total of £330.
This was made up of a £75 fine, £150 court charge, £85 prosecution costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
The court heard he also had outstanding fines of £403.
