FIRE fighters have been tackling a blaze at a landfill site near Bridgwater overnight.
The fire broke out around 10.43pm at landfill site near Bristol Road, Pawlett.
Fire engines from Bridgwater, Burnham on Sea, Taunton, Nether Stowey, Water Carriers from Bridgwater and Yeovil and High Volume pumps from Wellington have been in attendance overnight at a fire involving a landfill site.
A welfare catering unit from Crediton and an incident command Unit from Street are also in attendance.
The fire involved a waste pile measuring 100mX100m.
Crews were still on site at 7.24am this morning (July 14).
Relief teams from Wells and Somerton arrived at the scene at 4.15am to continue work with two attack jets supplied by the High Volume Pump damping down the site.
