A POPULAR games shop in Bridgwater part of a small chain is set to become independent.

Insane Games, on Fore Street, will soon no longer be connected to its sister store, in Wells.

From Saturday, April 6, the Bridgwater games shop will become TIMEWARP Gaming & Collectibles.

Both Timewarp Arcade and the Timewarp store will run separately but under one group name - the owners have confirmed Timewarp Arcade is not closing, and both will remain at their current premises.

All staff at the store will be retained during the conversion, as will all warranties issued at any branch of insane games before Friday, April 5 2024.

Valid credit notes and gift vouchers from any branch of Insane Games dated Friday, April 5 2024 or older will still be accepted, however loyalty points will not be carried over and must be used by Saturday, April 6.

On Facebook, a spokesperson for the Bridgwater shop said: "Insane Games in Bridgwater will soon be changing...

"From April 6, we will be trading as TIMEWARP Gaming & Collectibles. (Unless we think of a better name).

"We will be running as a solo independent store and no longer connected to Insane Games in Wells.

"This will enable us to evolve and make changes suited to our customer base and local competition.

"We have lots of exciting plans and changes coming. We'll announce them very soon, so stay with us."
