SEVERAL windows at the entrance of Bridgwater Railway Station have been smashed over three confirmed incidents of criminal damage.

The station, accessed via Wellington Road, has had many of its entrance windows smashed, with the first confirmed incident taking place on Friday, March 15.

A passenger who frequently uses the station reported 'upwards of 20' windows destroyed, and claimed staff showed him a large rock which they believe was used to cause some of the damage.

The passenger also stated that staff at the station believe the incidents have been taking place between 3 and 4pm.

In a statement from the British Transport Police sent to the Mercury on Tuesday, March 26, they confirmed two other known incidents which took place on Wednesday, March 20, and Tuesday, March 21.

“We received reports of criminal damage to the windows of Bridgwater Railway Station on 15 March, 20 March, and 21 March," the spokesperson said.

"Enquiries into these incidents are ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016, quoting reference 72 of 21/03/2024.”
