FIRE crews and police attended the scene of a car fire near Bridgwater this evening (August 1).
The Fire Service received a call at around 6.30pm reporting a car on fire on the dual carriageway from the M5, Junction 24, Huntworth towards Bridgwater.
Two fire appliances from Bridgwater attended and police provided traffic control as there was a lot of smoke issuing from the the vehicle.
A fire service spokesman said: "Fire crews confirmed a car on the hard shoulder of a dual carriageway with a small electrical fire in the engine compartment.
"The fire was out on the arrival of fire crews who made the vehicle safe. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental."
