Somerset Cup: Portishead Ladies 2-0 Bridgwater United FC Women
BRIDGWATER United Women have been knocked out of the Somerset Senior Cup after defeat to Portishead Town Ladies at the weekend.
The match played in Portishead ended 2-0 as Bridgwater were unable to really get a foothold in the game.
It was a tough defeat for Bridgwater who were the reigning Somerset Cup champions and are now unable to defend their title.
Instead, Portishead progress to the semi-finals of the Somerset FA County Cup after what was a dominant 2-0 victory.
Goals came from Stella Gandee Morgan who opened the scoring and skipper Laura Barrett secured the win.
For Bridgwater, they now switch their focus back to league football as they take on Abingdon United up next on January 28 away from home.
Currently the Robins sit in seventh place in the Division One South West and will be hoping to climb up the table during the second half of the season.
