A FINE Victorian Tunbridge Ware occasional table is one of the attractive lots in the final antiques sale of the year at Greenslade Taylor Hunt’s Taunton saleroom.

The sale, which takes place on Thursday, December 5, is on view Saturday, November 30, at The Octagon Salerooms, East Reach, Taunton, alongside the quarterly collectors sale, which is staged on Friday, December 6.

There are a number of interesting examples of furniture in the antiques sale from a pair of small William IV apprentice piece tables to an impressive, “statement” four poster bed. Another appealing item is a strong cylinder top desk from a farm near Glastonbury. A lovely, well-made Davenport desk is also sure to catch the eye. Two Victorian “conversation” sofas are also entered in this section.

With Christmas around the corner a suitably festively decorated Poole Pottery collection in Winter Vine could be a useful addition to any home. This large set of crockery includes plates, serving dishes, tureens and candlesticks with a holly decoration. There are even a couple of tea towels in the same pattern to assist with the washing up. The comprehensive set is guided at £80-£100.

Continuing the decorative theme a pair of tulip vases, which were consigned to the saleroom following one of the regular Monday valuation mornings will also be included in the auction.

In the collectors sale a white Rolls Royce made in 1980 by Sharna Tri-ang complete with keys is certain to delight. It is guided at £200-£300.

A needlework collection put together by a private collector, comprising sewing tools and accessories will be included in this sale.

An interesting selection of medals will be featured in the collectors sale along with a good range of stamps including a French collection.

The auctioneers are now setting the dates for next year’s sales. For more information please contact the saleroom on 01823 332525.
