AN eclectic evening of energetic and original sounds is heading to the Bridgwater Labour Club on Saturday (September 6).
Brixton-based rapper Marvin (formerly Marvin the Martian) will be joined by dub pop extraordinaire Jabba James and local songwriter Bonde de Wolf.
Marvin first emerged as a rising star with the rap crew Why Lout? and their producer, Jack Nimble, mixed the popular Art Brut track Emily Kane into the infamous Stay Off The Kane featuring Marvin's exceptional vocals.
This became the first grime and indie crossover and was praised by various music publications including indie bible NME.
His new album, Devil in the Distance, has been reaping praise from the music industry for its straightforward approach, authentic delivery and effortlessly sharp and hard-hitting intelligence.
Jabba James takes inspiration from classic songwriters such as Marvin Gaye and the Beatles but adds dub and psychedelia to create something extra special.
Using his urban lifestyle in Bristol as a template for his music, Jabba James will take you on a beat-filled journey that is certain to impress.
His second single, Baby I Like You, has been play-listed on radio stations across the UK and it is only a matter of time before he emerges as a force in the mainstream.
Local artist Bonde de Wolf offers dark pop songs with a thoughtful approach that grabs you by the collar and pulls you into an atmospheric world of his own personal thoughts and experiences.
His honest vocals and acoustic guitar set are both refreshing and absorbing.
Doors open at 8pm and entry is £3 on the door.
