BURNHAM artist Tim Smith will be exhibiting his work from home from March 26 to April 3.

His work will include local scenes as well as landscapes and townscapes further afield, flora, fauna and more.

He said: “Art is calming but can also be arresting and exciting – all of which improves the quality of our lives, whether we are the producer or the recipient.

“I love using watercolours, oils and pastels but also have some new work in gouache and acrylics.

“I enjoy painting local landmarks like Brent Knoll, Brean, Crook Peak and the Quantocks, buildings around Burnham and further afield - Bath, Bristol, even London.

“It has been exciting to explore various parts of Britain and I lived for a time in Ireland, all of this inspiring my work, as well as other parts of the globe. Additionally, I have received various commissions such as painting people's homes or pets.

“Before and during a project, an artist is taking a journey, but it continues after its completion – great reward is to be had from the knowledge that someone else may be appreciating the finished result – for a picture can be treasured for a lifetime either for yourself or a loved one.”

The exhibition is being held at 47 Rosewood Avenue, Burnham, and entry is free. Opening times are: Saturday, Monday, Tuesday and Friday – 10am to 6pm; Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday – 2pm to 6pm.
