HALLELUJAH! Singing superstar Alexandra Burke will be performing live in Bridgwater on April 29, and the Mercury has a pair of tickets to give away.

Alexandra stole the musical hearts of the nation after winning The X Factor with her cover of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah in 2008.

After initially trying out for the TV talent show in 2005, Alexandra's smooth and powerful voice soon won over the voting public when she progressed into the live shows three years later.

Her performances continued to impresses the judges, week by week, and she fulfilled a dream when she sang Listen as a duet with Beyonce in the final of the show.

Alexandra beat Eoghan Quigg to the contract prize before releasing her debut single, Hallelujah.

It shot to the top of the charts and bagged the songstress her first number one that Christmas, continuing to grow past one million sales.

Since her early success, the North London singer has continued her high-flying career with the hit singles Bad Boys, Broken Heels, All Night Long and Start Without You, plus her chart-topping album, Overcome.

Her music had prompted three Brit nominations since her fast rise to fame.

Now she has embarked on a national tour, stopping at Bridgwater for the very first time.

Alexandra Burke will be performing at Junction 24 on April 29.
