SMITH Ian Of North Newton sadly passed away on 5th September 2023, aged 89 years. He left us peacefully, at home, surrounded by his family as was his wish. Not only was he a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend to many, but he was a valued member of society leading the Somerset NHS for many years and also governing SCAT - as it was then known - in Taunton. A funeral service will take place at Taunton Deane Crematorium at 2pm on Friday 22nd September 2023. All are welcome to join friends and family in paying their respects. Donations in Ian's memory in aid of "Dementia UK" may be given either in person or through Wallace Stuart Lady Funeral Directors TA6 6PZ.
