Chris Kettle was a valued and respected friend and former HR colleague at BCL (Courtaulds Films). Although Chris was based in Bridgwater I was located in Barrow in Furness. I entered the HR field quite late in my career and will always remember Chris (and Ray Millard) for their professionalism and willingness to answer my endless questions up to and during the Barrow site closure announcement on 11 September 1991. Chris and I remained in contact, as recently as Christmas 2023. I am forever grateful to Chris for his friendship and, like many other former colleagues of a certain vintage at both locations, I will miss him. We have lost a friend, a gentleman and a professional and my sincere sympathy goes to Nancy and all of his friends and family.
