A BRIDGWATER man who used to live in the new Mercury offices in Angel Crescent said the area has changed significantly over the decades.
Peter Slocombe, 67, lived with his parents Ray and Molly, brother, Michael and sister Molly-Anne Symonds until he was around eight years old.
He said there used to be a candle factory and a lemonade bottling store opposite, where Angel Place shopping centre is, and Starkey Knight and Ford Brewery around 100 yards away.
Speaking in the Mercury offices, he added: “I have passed here a few times but this is the first time I have been back in for 60 years.
“I can remember when my father used to keep chickens in the house but all the houses became offices in the 1970s.”
