A BARN full of hay In Hulkshay Lane, North Petherton, saw fire crews from across Somerset tackle the blaze for almost three hours last night (May 11).
Two appliances with the water carrier from Bridgwater and one appliance from Taunton were mobilised at 6.43pm.
On arrival at the scene crews confirmed one barn approx 20m by 5m full of hay well alight and requested a further three appliances to attend the incident.
A further appliance from Bridgwater and two from Taunton were mobilised with the Incident Command Unit from Cheddar.
At 8pm, crews were still at work tackling a fire within a four bay open sided barn using compressed air foam branches.
Crews were continuing to damp down with hose reels at 9.21pm.
