A NEW theatre costing £8million has now been officially handed over to Bridgwater College.
The 350-seater McMillan Theatre in College Way was completed last month housing an orchestra pit and control room, box office, dance studio and changing rooms.
As the only theatre space of its size and type in the local area, it will play host to professional and community performances as well as College productions, conferences and art exhibitions.
Mike Robbins, Bridgwater College Principal said: “We are delighted to have our new theatre which will be an amazing facility for our Performing Arts students, the wider College and the local community. It also has the flexibility to become an excellent conference venue for businesses and other organisations. It’s been a long time coming but we look forward to it being a really successful venue and one which Bridgwater can be proud of."
There are a number of upcoming performances, including Sedgemoor Showcase, on Thursday, July 9 and Black Dyke Band, on Sunday, October 18.
Tickets are available by calling 01278 556677.
