A SELECTION of talented entertainment acts fought to secure a front of curtain slot at this year’s carnival concerts.
The auditions were held on March 15, with 22 hopefuls performing and 13 making the cut.
The event was held at Bridgwater Town Hall and 48 judges assessed a five minute performance from budding entertainers.
The successful acts will perform at the popular concerts, which take place between October 3 and October 15.
Rita Jones, president for Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee, said: "We would like to take this opportunity to thank every act for taking the time to apply and audition for our concerts. Once again receiving so much interest proves that the Bridgwater carnival concerts are as popular as ever.
"The standard of the acts was the highest ever, and the judges had a very difficult task in choosing which 13 should go forward to the big event later this year.
"For those acts that didn’t make it through this time, we would love to see them back auditioning for next year’s event."
The successful acts were:
• Chloe Jenkins – vocalist
• Westcan Choir – dance choir
• Stereo Acoustic – music duo
• Paige Brunton - Vocalist
• Harriet Brixey – solo vocalist
• Cameron Sell and Mia Riddle – music duo
• Fox King Dance Academy – dance group
