The Bridgwater Gangs and Features held its annual Old Folks Show on the March 17 to 19 March at the Bridgwater Town Hall.
The show is put on by the Bridgwater Carnival Clubs, front of curtain acts and supported by sound, lighting, comperes, backstage crew, stewards, first aiders and refreshment team all who volunteer their time and skills providing a wonderful show for the elderly of the Bridgwater area under the leadership of the organiser Wayne Anker.
Our thanks to the many business and individuals who donated prizes for the free raffle each night; through their generosity we gave away 50 prizes each night and Bridgwater Town Council for allowing us to use the Town Hall free of charge.
A special thank you must go to the Senior Citizen audiences who gave to the charity collection each evening for the Musgrove Leukemic Group Somerset and donating the fantastic amount of £1200.00.
Representatives from the Bridgwater Gangs and Features were privileged to present this cheque to Maureen Hudson, trustee of the MLGS on behalf of the senior citizens.
To everyone who took part in the show and our generous audience and supporters, thank you and we look forward to seeing you all again next year.
Arthur Leigh, President of Bridgwater Carnival Gangs and Features
