HAVE you ever thought you might like to join carnival but wouldn't know where to start?
Well, a series of new workshops launching in June and July could be just the thing for you.
The Bridgwater Carnival Committee is organising a series of carnival taster workshops at Bridgwater & Taunton College, giving people the chance to find out how they could get involved.
"Anyone can have a go, whether you’re already involved in carnival or not," said a committee spokesman.
"Workshops range from welding to make-up and will be led by college tutors or experienced carnivalites who will pass on their experience and expertise."
The workshops will run on Saturday, June 16 and Saturday, July 7, and include full or half-day sessions depending on the workshop you take part in.
The sessions are free and you can attend as many as you like.
Workshops on offer are Welding, model making, model making – fibre glass, costume design, costume construction, carnival make up and prosthetics, stage design construction, stage set design, stage set painting, cart design, hair design.
Places are limited, so people are advised to book early to avoid disappointment.
