THERE has been nearly 300 positive coronavirus cases confirmed in the last 24 hours.
The data, which is released by the Government, shows 299 new cases were confirmed in four Somerset districts up to 5pm yesterday (December 30).
Somerset West and Taunton saw the highest increase with 101 new cases, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 2,729.
Sedgemoor also saw a large increase, with 86 positive tests. This brings the total to 2,641.
Mendip saw an increase of 41, bringing the total to 1,639.
And South Somerset had 71 positive tests, bringing the total to 2,645.
