A PERSON was freed from a van after a multi-vehicle crash in North Petherton.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called at 4.56pm on December 31 to reports of a road traffic collision on Showground Road with people possibly trapped.
Two fire engines from Bridgwater and a heavy rescue unit and support pump from Taunton were sent to the scene.
On arrival crews confirmed the crash involved three cars and one van, with one person still physically trapped in the van.
"Crews used two sets of hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the casualty from the van," a fire service spokesperson said.
"There was three other casualties who were all dealt with by the ambulance service."
