CLAP for Carers is set to return this Thursday - but this time, people across the UK are being invited to put their hands together for 'heroes' who have helped during the pandemic.
Annemarie Plas, the woman who started Clap for Carers in March, revealed on Twitter today (January 6) that she intends to bring back the 8pm applause under a different name, Clap for Heroes, to ‘lift spirits’ amid England’s third national lockdown.
The gesture was originally started as a way to show gratitude and appreciation to NHS and care staff working on the frontline.
Annemarie Plas tweeted: “We are bringing back the 8pm applause, in our 3rd lockdown.
“I hope it can lift the spirit, of all of us. Carers teacher, homeschooling parents, those who shield and ALL who is pushing through this difficult time! Please join & share! #clapforheroes.”
