A COMMUNITY playing field has been kitted out with new equipment thanks to a grant from Viridor.
Chilton Polden Playing Field Association recently undertook a major redevelopment of the playing field with a new safety surface being installed around the existing equipment.
New equipment including a roundabout, high space net, basket swing, cableway and outdoor gym equipment was also installed on the site.
Works to revamp the site were completed at the beginning of the New Year and the development was mainly funded by a grant from Viridor Credits.
Kevin Plunkett from the Chilton Polden Playing Field Association, said the project has been a big success and he hopes children will enjoy using the new equipment.
“The project went very well despite the weather,” Kevin said.
“The committee are very pleased with the new surface and the new equipment and are looking forward to it all being fully open.”
Due to wet weather most of the equipment is currently fenced off at the playing field as it is very muddy and there are large pools of water.
It is hoped that the fences will be removed sometime in January but Kevin said this depends on the weather.
