MOTORISTS faced long delays after a lorry shed its load of milk cartons over a motorway.
The vehicle overturned on the M5 between Clevedon and Weston-super-Mare, at 5.30am on Friday (January 29).
Two lanes were closed while the spilt milk and diesel were cleared - causing five-and-a-half mile tailbacks and delays of 90 minutes.
Highways England tweeted: "Recovery is now on scene, the recovery will take some time due to the size of the vehicle and the contents as to which it is carrying.
"If travelling in #Somerset this morning pls be aware there are LONG DELAYS on the #M5 northbound due to an overturned lorry nearr #Clevedon.
"There are approx. 5.5 miles of congestion back towards #WestonSuperMare, this is likely to add 60-90 mins onto usual travel times. Plan ahead."
