A WOMAN'S body has been found in the water at a Somerset park, police have confirmed.
Emergency services were called to reports of a sudden death at around 7.40am this morning (February 4) at Ninesprings Park, Yeovil.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said formal identification of the the body has yet to take place.
"At approximately 7.30am this morning (Thursday, February 4) emergency services responded to reports of a woman in the water in the Ninesprings park area of Yeovil," a police spokesperson said.
"The woman was recovered from the water and CPR was carried out by paramedics, but sadly she was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The woman’s family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
"Although our investigation is ongoing, we do not consider the circumstances to be suspicious."
A spokesperson for South Somerset District Council, who manages the park, said they are aware of the incident but they cannot comment as it is a police matter with enquiries ongoing.
"Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to the family of those affected," a SSDC spokesperson said.
