SEDGEMOOR District Council released the Bridgwater Town Investment Plan Summary document today (February 26) to provide stakeholders and the public with a condensed version of the plan.
The document sets out the vision for Bridgwater, focusing on the challenges and opportunities for the town, the strategic aims and objectives, the projects proposed to government, the planned outputs, outcomes and impacts and finally the approach to delivering the plan successfully.
The plan seeks to secure £25 million of Government funding for Bridgwater and if successful will unlock over £160 million of public and private investment into the town that will stimulate billions more in local economic and community benefits.
The council says it is expected that feedback will be received from Government by the end of March providing an ‘in-principle’ agreement on the allocated funding.
The next steps will be the production of detailed design proposals alongside more community engagement to ensure the plan achieves its aims and objectives.
