FIREFIGHTERS tackled a chiney blaze in a village near Bridgwater last night (March 19).
A crew from Nether Stowey was sent to Mill Lane, Spaxton, at around 8.30pm after a call from a member of the public.
A spokesperson for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "One fire appliance from Nether Stowey was immediately mobilised by Fire Control.
"On arrival, the Incident Commander confirmed that there was a fire, that had been contained to the chimney breast and got crews to work to extinguish the fire using a hose reel jet, a thermal imaging camera and chimney gear."
It is understood no one was hurt in the incident.
