A BOWLING club in Somerset is hosting a Big Bowls Weekend this month.
Bridgwater Bowling Club, founded in 1908, is hosting the weekend in conjunction with Bowls England as a national open weekend.
The event, on May 30 and 31, is open to all.
“We are disability friendly and a mixed sex club,” said a spokesperson for Bridgwater Bowling Club.
“Our aim is to introduce the wonderful game of outdoor/indoor bowls to all ages, as we emerge out of lockdown with lots of people being unsure/hesitant of how to return to a normal life.
“The event will be fully Covid-19 compliant and our aim is to help new and old members to get fit.
“On each day over the weekend we will have skilled club members happy to encourage, guide and assist our visitors throughout the day.”
The club facilities will also be available during the weekend.
Bridgwater Bowling Club have won many local competitions and also have many members who play for county teams.
To attend, visitors must book a day and a time slot.
All equipment and guidance will be provided for free.
Bridgwater Bowling Club is on Durleigh Road.
