A PLAN for more than 550 homes on the outskirts of Bridgwater has been submitted.
The scheme, by Lance Alec Rainey House and Hannick Homes Developments Ltd, would see 560 new homes built on land at Follett's Farm, in Dunwear Lane, near the M5 motorway.
The application is an outline plan, meaning particular details of the development are not included, instead it is an overview of what is proposed.
Details show the scheme would include 560 residential properties, as well as access for vehicles, pedestrians and bicycles.
The site is a 21.5 hectare piece of land bordered by Dunwear Lane, Westonzoyland Road and the M5 to the east of Bridgwater. It is included in the local development plan for the Sedgemoor district.
The application outlines how the development would be access by 'two priority T-junctions on to Dunwear Lane'.
"A new roundabout on the A372 (Westonzoyland Road), associated with the adjacent development site at Bower Farm will provide a new four-arm junction to facilitate access to both sites," it adds.
SITE: At Follett's Farm, Bridgwater
Existing ditches, hedgerows and trees on the site 'will be retained where possible', the plan says, alongside required open space and play areas.

Comments on the application are open until June 17, 2021.
