A MOTORIST crashed into another vehicle, got out and attacked the other driver in an attempted robbery
Police are seeking witnesses to the incident on the M5 near North Petherton.
As the victim, a woman in her 20s, was leaving the motorway on the southbound exit slip at Junction 24, a black Nissan pick-up truck cut across her lane.
The Nissan driver damaged her car in the incident last Wednesday (May 12) at about 3.30pm.
Police say the man driving the Nissan got out of his vehicle and proceeded to punch and kick the woman.
He also attempted to take her car keys and mobile phone.
The victim sustained injuries which needed hospital treatment. She has since been discharged.
The culprit is described as white, aged 30 to 40-years-old, with short brown spiky hair, around 5ft 8in tall, and was wearing a grey top and blue jeans.
Police would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened or has any information that could assist their investigation.
