A CAMPERVAN was badly damaged after it burst into flames on the M5 between Taunton and Huntworth.
Two fire crews from the county town attended the incident on the northbound carriageway between Junctions 25 and 24.
The fire service received several calls about the fire shortly after 5pm yesterday (Wednesday).
Firefighters tackled the fire using two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, small tools and an environmental pack.
The campervan, which had pulled over onto the hard shoulder, was 25 per cent damaged by fire and 50 per cent damaged by smoke, according to a fire service spokesperson.
The cause of the fire was accidental.
