TWO open-air theatre productions are headed to Somerset next month.
Folksy Theatre, a Scottish theatre company, are bringing two shows to The Walled Gardens of Cannington in July.
They will be performing two productions: William Shakespeare’s The Tempest and Little Red and the Big Bad Wolf.
Audiences can bring their own blankets and chairs, along with picnics and drinks.
“All our productions use talented actor/musicians, so the shows are filled with bold characters, lots of humour and live music,” said a spokesperson for Folksy.
“There’s really something for everyone.”
In their production of The Tempest, Prospero conjures a storm and torments the survivors of a ship wreck.
Meanwhile Prospero’s slave, Caliban, plots to rid himself of his master but is thwarted by Prospero’s spirit-servant Ariel. Ferdinand then falls in love with Prospero’s daughter Miranda.
Folksy fill their production with live music, colourful characters, enchantment and ‘a touch of magic’.
In Little Red, the show mixes together childhood stories including Goldilocks and The Three Bears and the Three Little Pigs.
The show features puppetry and live music.
The Tempest will be shown on Saturday, July 31, at 7pm.
And Little Red will be performed on Saturday, August 28, at 3pm.
