SOMERSET was left reeling yesterday as dramatic downpours hit the county.
Flooding struck across the county, including in Taunton, Bridgwater, Norton Fitzwarren, North Petherton and Cheddon Fitzpaine.
The downpours began shortly after 2pm yesterday (July 3) and continued throughout the afternoon.
Various roads were left struggling with the volume of water, with large puddles forming.
Fire crews were called to various locations to help tackle the problems.

"There have been numerous fire appliances and officers sent to a number of locations to assist residents where we can," said a Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson.
"The rain has subsided for the time being but there is believed to be some more arriving later this evening and in the early hours."
