THE mayor of North Petherton has praised those who helped in the town during the weekend's flooding.
Flash floods hit the town on Saturday afternoon as heavy rainfall battered the county, causing flash floods across the town.
Now, Cllr Alan Bradford has praised those who helped.
"I would like to thank the various people who came to the rescue of residents who suffered from the unprecedented storm on Saturday afternoon," he said.

"Special thanks to K&M Contractors, Nether Stowey Fire Brigade and John Miller who all helped to alleviate the situation.
"Unfortunately, the stream at Melcombe Lane broke its bank during the afternoon resulting in water flooding neighbouring farm land and gardens before reaching the town centre.
"As always, SDC’s Clean Surroundings will continue the clean up in the worst affected areas at Tappers Lane, High Street, Hammet Street, Mill Street, Baymead and Broadlands Avenue."
