FIREFIGHTERS were called to a chimney fire in Bridgwater yesterday afternoon.
Fire control received reports of the incident at 4.50pm and sent one of the town's engines to the scene.
A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "Once on scene crews confirmed one chimney well alight and requested assistance from a second appliance which also came from Bridgwater.
"Crews got to work trying to extinguish the fire from the hearth and the roof using SHACS (Safety at Height and Confined Spaces) equipment and chimney gear."
The fire was successfully extinguished and the cause is believed to be accidental.
