AN organisation which helps to promote healthy lifestyles for children officially opened its doors last week.
Live Naturally CIC was opened by Justin Sargent from Somerset Community Foundation and Solveig Curran, manager of Live Naturally CIC, on July 9.
Due to Covid-19, the opening ceremony in North Petherton, was attended by a limited number of people.
Staff, children and parents from Wilstock Gardens Childcare, as well as Mr Sargent and Sarah Wakefield, also from Somerset Community Foundation and the committee for the Somerset Social Enterprise Fund.
Live Naturally CIC received a loan and a grant from the fund towards the new premises.
Rob Semple and Shannon Maye, from Sedgemoor District Council (SDC), also attended the opening.
The facility on Viking Close will provide Live Naturally CIC with a 'home' for its community activities.
The organisation, which started in 2006, runs Wilstock Gardens Childcare, a preschool focusing on healthy eating and outdoor play, healthy lifestyle holiday projects, and courses to help families improve their physical and mental health.
The next project being run by Live Naturally CIC is Happy, Healthy Holidays Somerset, which is a partnership between Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership and Somerset County Council.
Ms Curran said: "I am so pleased the premises is ready before the school holiday and the first date for the Happy, Healthy, Holiday Somerset is Monday, July 26.
"We have lots of exciting activities planned for the holidays, the children from our local area will benefit from healthy cooked meals every day and lots of physical activity.
"The children will also join in with other activities like arts and crafts, archery, cooking, feeding the chickens and hopefully see our new baby chicks hatch.”
