Dawid Gawel, 33, c/o Witches Walk, Bridgwater, pleaded guilty to being behind the wheel when the proportion of a controlled drug in his blood was above the legal limit.
Gawel committed the offence while driving in Lydney on August 2 last year.
As well as being disqualified when he appeared at Taunton Magistrates' Court, he was also fined £130 with a £34 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
At the same hearing, Gawel admitted driving without insurance on the same date, for which he was fined £120.
