A PERSON riding a MOBILITY SCOOTER got stuck in soft mud on a Somerset beach.
Members of the Burnham Coastguard Rescue Team were sent to Burnham beach on Friday (July 23) to reports from a member of the public about the stranded vehicle.
"As two of our team members were out on a safety patrol they were diverted to Burnham beach after reports from a member of public about a mobility scooter that had become stuck in the soft mud," said a spokesperson.
"The owner hadn't realised that the beach had areas of soft mud as they weren't used to the perils of our local beaches."
This isn't the first time the crew has rescued a stuck scooter, the spokesperson said, so they knew what to do.
"Much like last time, we quickly set about freeing the scooter and requested our friends from BARB Search & Rescue to bring their empty trailer down so they could recover the scooter back to the lady's other half, who was waiting for her by our station," they added.
It is understood no one suffered any injuries in the incident.
