THE Covid-19 rate of infection in Somerset is well below the average for the whole of England, the latest figures show.
The number of positive tests in each district in the latest seven-day period were:
- Somerset West and Taunton 266;
- Sedgemoor 314;
- Mendip 382;
- South Somerset 522.
That represents a decrease in each district.
The rate of infection in each district has also dipped:
- SWT 171.5 cases per 100,000 of population;
- Sedgemoor 254.9 per 100,000;
- South Somerset 310.1;
- Mendip 330.5.
The number of positive tests across the whole of England in that seven-day period was 225,914, representing an infaction rate of 401.4 per 100,000.
