A GOATHURST man escaped a driving ban after being caught behind the wheel without insurance twice in 23 days.
Sam David Mularczyk was handed a total of 12 points at Taunton Deane Magistrates' Court, but was not disqualified as it could have caused hardship to an employee and a family member if he lost his licence.
Mularczyk, 29, of Oakenford Cottage, committed the first offence in Ottery St Mary on September 21 last year.
He was then stopped for repeating the same offence on the A3259 at Monkton Heathfield on October 14.
He was given six penalty points for each count, normally sufficient for a driving disqualification.
He was fined a total of £460, with a £46 victim surcharge and £170 costs after admitting the offences.
A CREWKERNE motorist was caught speeding at the wheel or a goods vehicle or passenger carrying vehicle on a dual carriageway.
Alan Roy Archer, 53, of Roundham, Crewkerne, pleaded guilty at Taunton Magistrates' Courts to doing 89mph on the 70mph stretch of the A303 near Wincanton on January 1 this year.
He was fined £68 with a £32 victim surcharge.
YUSUF Tumusime, 48, of no fixed abode, was found guilty of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour in Taunton, on November 12 last year.
He was fined £440 with a £44 victim surcharge and £775 costs.
A WELLINGTON driver was banned for three years after being found guilty of drug driving in the town's Station Road on October 10 last year.
Darren Keith Barnes, 45, of Priory, was also fined £180 with a £34 victim surcharge and £100 costs.
