BRIDGWATER United have made a new signing.
The Robins have brought on board former North Leigh and Bishops Lydeard defender, Ross Edwards.
The 21-year-old has featured in a number of United’s pre-season fixtures and has quickly impressed, scoring a late equaliser against Bideford and producing a solid performance against National League Weymouth.
After signing, Edwards said: “Signing for Bridgwater United is a big achievement for myself.
“I’m looking forward to testing myself week in week out and progressing as a player with the support of the management and staff.
“I have goals and ambitions I want to achieve as a player and I believe Bridgwater United will be a great fit for me to do so and I’m looking forward to the season beginning tomorrow.”
Robins manager, Dave Pearse, said he had been impressed by youngster Edwards’ performances in pre-season.
“Ross is young quick and strong and has really had an excellent pre-season,” he said.
“He’s very comfortable and composed on the ball which you don’t often see sometimes with young players.
“He also brings an aerial threat with him, which we saw at Bideford earlier this month and I’m certain he has a great future ahead of him.”
