A NEW play area in Bridgwater is holding an official opening event next week.
While the new toddler play area in Eastover Park- also known as Cranleigh Gardens - opened for children during the summer holidays.
But there will be an official cut-the-ribbon event next Wednesday (August 25) between noon and 2pm.
There will be a face painter, toddler games, music, bubbles and dancing.
Visitors will also be able to play on the brand new equipment, which includes four swings, a multi-play unit, a trampoline, a see-saw, and a springer.
It also has a toddler squad swing, which is the first of its kind in a Sedgemoor play park.
More than 100 people took part in a public consultation about the £50,000 upgrade earlier this year.

The top results were the following, all of which have been met within the new playground design:
- A larger toddler playground
- More litter bins and benches and picnic tables
- A new climbing frame with slide
- Toddler swings
- A roundabout
- A trampoline
