CREWS from 13 fire stations have been battling a massive barn fire overnight.
Firefighters were sent to the blaze on the Quantick Hills following "multiple calls" shortly after 8.30pm yesterday (Sunday, August 22).
On arrival at the incident in Stringston - close to Holford, Kilve and Stogursey - firefighters discovered a barn containing 300 hay bales to be well alight.
All cattle had been rescued and removed from the building to a safe location.
The incident commander sectorised the incident and crews worked to protect surrounding buildings in the area.
The operation was scaled back by around 1.20am, although crews continued to work in there sectors on "watching briefs".
Relief crews were sent in the early hours and later this morning.
