A MAN brandished an empty bottle as he and woman threatened a couple accompanied by two children.

Police are investigating the public order incident in Bridgwater.

The incident started in Binford Place at about 5pm on Wednesday, August 4.

It then moved into Blake Gardens.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: "A man and woman shouted threats, before the man picked up an empty bottle from a recycling bin and brandished it.

"At this time, we believe all the people involved in this incident are known to each other."

Police say the town centre was busy at the time and are appealing for witnesses to call them on 101 and give the call handler the reference number 5221178188.
