A RETAILER is returning to a Somerset shopping centre after SEVEN YEARS.
Hot drinks specialist Whittard of Chelsea is set to return to Clarks Village with a brand-new store, selling its range of teas, coffees and hot chocolates, as well as limited-edition equipment and ceramics – all at discounted prices.
Guests will be able to get their Whittard fix when the store returns to Clarks Village later this month.
Most products will be discounted by 30% as standard with a selection reduced by as much as 50%.
The store will also offer exclusive multi-buy promotional deals, including bundles and mix-and-match specials, served by its friendly team of in-store experts.
Guests will be able to sample a vast selection of hot drinks and benefit from the Whittard taste guarantee, which lets customers try new products with the reassurance of a full refund if it isn’t to their taste.
Chris Davis, centre director at Clarks Village, said: “Whittard is a great brand and very much loved by the Clarks Village guests.
"We’re pleased to welcome Whittard to the mix of premium designer brands and high street names at Clarks Village.
"We’re all looking forward to the old favourites that are staples of the brand alongside their new tastes and products, all at exclusive outlet prices.”
Whittard was founded in 1886 by Walter Whittard, who became a tea trader at the age of just 17.
At 25, he opened his first shop in London’s Fleet Street with the philosophy of ‘buying the best’, sourcing quality tea, coffee and cocoa from across the globe and blending his tea and roasting coffee on site.
Today, 135 years on, Whittard has a strong reputation with 45 stores across the UK including other Landsec outlets; Braintree Village and Gunwharf Quays.
Dan Mahoney, Whittard of Chelsea customer director, said: “We're really excited to be returning to Clarks Village and opening a new retail shop at this particularly challenging time for the UK high street.
"As one of the jewels of the Somerset shopping landscape, we can't wait to be back in Street after a seven-year absence, bringing our unique range of fine teas, coffees and hot chocolates to Clarks Village shoppers.
"This new Whittard store represents something different and exciting for us, giving shoppers a chance to experience the very best of Whittard – there will be plenty to see, taste and explore, so we can't wait to welcome you when the doors open."
