GUESTS flocked to the streets of Bridgwater on Saturday (November 6) for this year's carnival.
Despite carnival clubs not putting on a traditional event this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, organisers of Bridgwater and Burnham-on-Sea carnivals hosted Sedgemoor Masquerade Week instead.

As part of the week, a walking carnival took place on Saturday in Bridgwater, with a squibbing display and a virtual carnival.
Dave Stokes, publicity director of Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee, said: “We were so pleased we were able to celebrate our carnival tradition in a low key and symbolic way, and we hope the Sedgemoor Masquerade Week activities helped to bring a smile to people’s faces and give the local community a boost.
“The costume walking parade on Saturday evening showed the carnival spirit is well and truly alive, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank and pay tribute to all of the entries who took part and for making it so very special and unique.
"We would also like to thank those who came out onto the streets of the town to support the parade and to cheer the carnivalites on… it was very much appreciated.
"We are now really looking forward to Saturday, November 5 2022 when we can welcome the illuminated carnival we know and love back to the streets of Bridgwater.”
