COUNCIL-owned streetlights at the Bridgwater Docks will be converted into more eco-friendly LED alternatives.
The initiative is part of Sedgemoor District Council’s green agenda through which the authority has already replaced 185 lights over the last three years.
The council said “residents and visitors to the Bridgwater Docks will notice a brighter, crystal-clear tinge to the seven streetlights around the dock basin”.
SDC will use a new LED illumination
The benefits of an LED illumination include lights lasting up to six times longer than the old Sone style. They are also up to 80 per cent more energy-efficient and free of toxic chemicals like mercury or harmful gases.
